Our Meal Kits: Sustainable by Nature

By sourcing many of our ingredients directly from Kiwi suppliers and delivering the produce to you without any detours, we remove steps from the traditional supply chain. This shorter supply chain means we avoid packaging and repackaging along the way. Plus, we use pre-portioned ingredients for our recipes, which means you also avoid food waste. As a result, your HelloFresh meals create 25%* fewer carbon emissions than the same meals made from supermarket ingredients. Learn more about our Life Cycle Assessment Study.

Our Sustainability Efforts

Our Sustainability Efforts

HelloFresh takes sustainability seriously. In 2022, we set science-based emissions reduction targets. These targets are in line with the Paris Climate Agreement's goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius. To learn more, take a look at our 2023 Non-Financial Report and see our latest sustainability achievements and how we measure their impact.

Keeping More on Your Plate

Keeping More on Your Plate

When food waste goes to landfill, it impacts the climate by producing greenhouse gases. We buy ingredients based on your order, pre-portioned to the gram. So you are cutting food waste by up to 21% with every HelloFresh meal.

All of our New Zealand distribution centres now run on renewable energy. That means that 100% of our meal kits are packed in centres run on either solar panels or GreenPower.
Innovative Packaging

Innovative Packaging

Your ingredients are always of the highest quality and are delivered to your door fresh and safe. We are continuously innovating to find more sustainable options or to remove packaging altogether.
Freshly Sourced

Freshly Sourced

Where food comes from is as important as how it tastes. We attach a great deal of importance to regional and seasonal produce, as well as sustainable agriculture, fishing, and animal farming.

Giving Back

We are proud to support the community through organisations like Kiwiharvest to make sure that any food surplus we have at our packing facility is donated to those who need it most.
